Loyal began with a concrete request: a client contacted us to create a digital loyalty card solution. Our first conversations quickly raised other questions. How does a merchant find their customers? Which information is actually useful? How can they prepare a campaign and understand what happened afterwards? Together, we started thinking about a more complete product.
The project started in August 2026. Aymeric and Romain are working on it in continuous collaboration with the client. Loyal is still in development: demonstrations make ideas visible and help us discuss user journeys, while features, integrations and deployment preparations move forward gradually. It is essential to distinguish this work from what merchants will be able to use once it is ready.
Start with the card, then look at the merchant's daily work
The digital loyalty card remains the product's starting point. We expanded the discussion to what surrounds it: building a customer database, structuring it and making it usable through a management interface. A card becomes more meaningful to a business when it forms part of a relationship its team can follow and understand.
Our work therefore also covers how that interface will be used. How should a merchant consult the available information, prepare a campaign and find its results? These questions guide the development of the data and management tools. We are also exploring push notifications as a marketing communication channel. Their role and operation are under consideration; we do not present them as an available feature.
Where does Loyal stand today?
The project is in development. The animated phone demonstrates a user journey; it is not evidence that every feature has been deployed.
Completed: presentation website, visual design, journey demonstrations and initial prototypes.
In development: digital cards, customer database, merchant interface, campaigns, Wallet/NFC integrations and deployment preparations.
Exploration and product vision: the role of marketing notifications and AI-assisted recommendations based on concrete observations.
Explore AI that starts with observations
The AI dimension is part of our exploratory and development work. The ambition is to suggest marketing strategies using several sources: observed campaign results, proprietary data and web research, including automated collection. We want recommendations to be grounded in concrete information that people can understand.
This ambition raises product questions before interface questions. Which data is available? What conclusions can it actually support? How can we explain the link between an observation and a proposed action? These subjects need to be worked through with the client to build a useful tool for merchants. We are not presenting either an autonomous marketing adviser or an operational recommendation engine today.
External research is being considered as a complement to the business's own information. A trend found on the web does not replace campaign results, and a recommendation needs to retain its context. Loyal's vision is to help people make decisions based on what they observe; this capability still needs to be developed and tested.
Design what happens at the counter too
The project does not stop at the screen. We are working on the required hardware and physical materials, particularly around NFC. The aim is to make the experience simple, original and pleasant in a real place: the merchant needs to be able to explain how it works, and the customer needs to understand the expected action. We are designing this alongside the digital journeys.
Wallet/NFC integrations and the elements needed to support them are part of the technical work. Preparing them does not mean they have all been validated or deployed. The website and prototypes give us a way to show intentions, gather feedback and continue shaping the product with the client.
Prepare deployment with personal support
We are also preparing deployment and initial contacts with merchants. Onboarding is part of the experience we are building. It includes support on site: we visit to install the materials, explain the solution and help the team get started. The way the tool is introduced into the business matters as much as the clarity of its interface.
That support continues afterwards. We remain available 24 hours a day to assist merchants, answer questions and address the difficulties they encounter. This availability describes our presence alongside them; it is not a promise of immediate resolution. Conversations in the field should also inform product adjustments and help us identify what needs to be simpler.
Build the next steps with the client
After approximately one month of work, Loyal is a product under construction that brings together digital design, data, marketing exploration and a physical experience. Decisions continue to be made with the client. The card opened the discussion; merchants' needs now give the product its direction. Our work is to move forward on that basis, make the choices visible and give an accurate account of what exists, what is being developed and what remains an ambition.
