The challenge
Turn a vision combining sport tracking, social networking, challenges and local communities into a realistic, high-performing product designed to evolve without exceeding the agreed budget.
The solution
A native V1 structured in four phases, developed in Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android, with Supabase supporting the growth of data and media.
From ambition to a practical plan
Kinn’s ambition was to combine workout and performance tracking, sharing with friends, challenges and communities linked to training locations, as well as training programmes users could generate, buy or sell and more open social formats. Our initial interactive prototype and detailed proposal turned that vision into a realistic, well-defined scope organised into four phases.
- A comprehensive inventory of features and user journeys.
- Phase one focused on an essential, functional V1.
- Phase two dedicated to creating, buying and selling programmes, as well as premium analytics.
- Phases three and four reserved for more open social formats and lower-priority enhancements.
- The interactive prototype built around phase one.

A native V1 designed to evolve
Kinn was weighing a shared codebase, which would be quicker to develop, against two dedicated applications. Because the product needed to use native features—including Liquid Glass on iOS—and remain stable and responsive as users, data and media grew, we recommended Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android.
- A shared exercise catalogue with videos and guides.
- Faster entry using recent values and a consistent history.
- Statistics, comparisons and preparation for future head-to-head challenges.
- Posts, photographs, notifications, map, messaging, likes and comments.
- A Supabase architecture designed to support growing data and media volumes.

From development to the first release
To prepare for release, we recommended a waiting list followed by a beta to bring early users together before launch and gather their feedback. We managed this phase, incorporated the refinements and supported the Apple review through to delivery of V1, in under five months and within the agreed budget.
- Hours and progress visible through the client area.
- A WhatsApp channel and check-ins roughly every ten days.
- Waiting list, invitations and test-group management.
- Centralised feedback and a short refinement phase.
- Information, communication and fixes related to the Apple review.
- The project continues with the next phases.

Audit, scoping and prototype
Together, we clarify the need, users and objectives, then create an initial clickable prototype to define the user journeys and essential features.
Essential features (MVP) and product roadmap
We define the essential features (MVP), then organise V2, V3 and future development around feedback, ambition and budget.
UX/UI and scalable architecture
User journey design, native or cross-platform technology, backend, APIs, database, administration when needed, security and performance: every decision prepares the application to grow without starting over.
iOS and Android development
We develop the iOS and Android application, incorporate your feedback and advise you throughout the project, with clear tracking of progress and hours.
Testing and app store publication
We test and optimise the application, prepare the accounts, product pages and forms, submit it to the App Store and Google Play, then work with you on the feedback and requested changes.
Production launch and future releases
We configure the production launch, hand over access and technical materials, and can then provide maintenance, support and the following phases.
Public launch plan
(Optional)For a public release, we can organise the waiting list, beta, newsletters and launch calendar to bring the first users together—just as we did for Kinn.
